S&P, Dollar, Gold, and Oil Analysis & Charts

Comprehensive analysis by Clive Maund in regard to favorite subjects. I still like EUO ( double short Euro) which started uptrend since November 25th ( low of 16.20, now it's trading close to 20) as long as Dollar strength continues:

  1. Check out this article about the Bancor, which is being discussed in some financial news media as the possible new world reserve currency to replace the US dollar –

    http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article16870.html (bottom of page)

The article also talks about the impact on gold prices and inflation/deflation, etc.

  2. People will resort to barter before they use a Bancor, Schmancor, or Amero, if they are not backed by Gold. Anything else will be a continuation of the ponzi and by then, everyone will reject anything forced down their throats. I think.

Anyway, as an aside, everyone is talking about how Obama is now come to the conclusion that it would be best to move the terror trials out of NY. People should note that this decision is more likely based on Chuck Schumer informing the President that if they have the trial in NY, the next NY Senators will be Republicans. Everything these folks do is political in nature. Just haven't heard that angle so I wanted to get it out there.

  3. All,

This is not a political site, FOCUS on the market and making money.

  5. Kli, sorry to hear about your daughter's incident, I hope it is minor in nature and works out well. - Analyze.

  6. Oh no...sorry to hear such bad news...my prayers are with you! TXB

  7. Since no one here has time to talk politics because they need to make more money, then visit ibankcoin.com and read the Chart Addict's blog... this guy averages about 500% a year now, on his returns. And he shares all his trades and methodologies, for free. Now, can we talk a little politics now?

  8. Doing fine gang .....very healthy girl...10yo ...new diagnoses noncomunicating hydrocephalus.....she will have full recovery. Nice childrens hospital in Tampa....we were on vacation...thnx for thots.

  9. Good to hear she's doing fine.

  10. Kli glad to here the recovery will go well. I will keep a good thought for your family.

  11. Good heads up on SMN last Friday TXB, I would like to see that back at 9.4-5 for a swing, looks like it has some potential here. Also have 1087 as a probable SPX target for rollover tomorrow, unless it went over 1105 (unlikely) I think we see 1058 in short order. - Analyze.

  12. A few short candidates. For context it looks like UUP could break out here as well. T/A is art not science, these are areas to watch price patterns if we get some upside to start.
    MON short 77
    MOS short 55.5
    AMZN short 128.7
AAPL short 196.6 (careful, this tends to have diversion and overshoot, wait for volume non-confirmation)
    SMN long 9.4-9.5
X short 45.4. This sucker is dead, may not even get an entry on it.
I agree with the links you have Kli, it appears to me GLD is going down to the lower targets he has.
Also miner gaps and scalps per usual, Palmer's flag for EUO is a good one too. Lots to keep us busy tomorrow.
    - Analyze.

  13. And a final word, if SPX overshoots and reverses trend these are obviously non-entries. You will be able to tell anyway once we get underway. Hope for a modestly up start on low to average volume. - Analyze.

  14. kli - glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Best to all of you. sister

Are you in EUO? I know you like SMN.

  17. Palmer, I like this one, I would love to see that draw down to around 9.4-9.5 and then hit that position. I think this aligns with our premise well. Patience for the entries is key here, I would love to see some upside tomorrow, I think a bounce is in here, it would suck if it drifted down to start the week. Better to have retail jump in and ramp it to get slammed by the MMs. But as you have said, play what the tape hands us. - Analyze.

  18. Kli, glad you daughter is better...still praying. Analyze, Palmer...thanks for the info(I love reading Kli's blog, I get great info and help by doing so!)...I have the APR12 calls also on SMN. Up over 20% on ZSL...tight stop in place now. SMN...no stop. Short the ags.(POT, MOS)...short AA, FCX, and PCU...All GL this week! TexasBlondie

  19. Looks like you got your wish, analyze. Bought some smn at 9.12 on Fri. morn, zsl position flat, will look at euo. Thanks, palmer and glta today. They are so tricky, this is uncomfortable for me but am getting shorter on every bounce. N

  22. GS & MMs just took out stops on SMN, they play dirty.

    palmer

  23. Palmer, SWC remains a beast - loooking for short side once we get to my 1087 target, IF the technicals align. All going according to plan so far. I will probably pick up SMN around that time too. AMZN looks like grim death, shortable on any bounce. Better entry than I had expected. - Analyze.

  24. Analyze,

we are almost at 1087 mark, be careful with SMN, GS is playing it today, the algos are taking stops out.

  25. Nancy,

Be careful with ETFs, remember buy and holds periods are shorter than last yr, play the gaps and take profit any time you have one. With SMN especially you are facing GS.

  26. What do you guys make of the ANV range 12.50-13.30 last 7 or 8 days? Consolidating to move up if gold holds support? Or better to trade this range?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Palmer, not liking what I am seeing in SMN, this move may have more legs to the upside than expected. Watching short side but not in a hurry until I get the signals I need. He who hurries gets decapitated. - Analyze.

  28. Analyze,

yup, be careful with SMN, not only you are facing MMs on that one, you are also facing the Monster itself ( GS).

    joe

  29. In a flash, GS with not much volume moved SMN from 9.30 to 9.42.

  33. homer,

How the heck are you bud?

    joe

  34. Hey joe - real good but real busy. No time for the market day to day other than just trying to get some entry points for the miners. Got the core established (finally) now waiting to increase the holdings even more. You guys are animals on the gap trading, I'm a swing trader at best. Basically pulling a Red right now, mostly cash for me but I've always been like that, risk averse.

  35. Homer,

capital preservation is more important than excess risk. Play it safe bud in this casino.

  36. All, here's an interesting read I stumbled upon...HFT from an engineer's prospective:

Anyone who thinks they they can beat the smartest computer scientists trying to build a better, badder HFT beast is looking to be anally intruded.

  40. Guys, stops hit on ZSL and SMN...:) Now I wait...nice profit...moved stop tighter on TYP. TXB

  41. Hit MOS short right here, wish me luck. - Analyze.

  42. Nope, dropped it, refused to breakdown. Not a shortie day. - Analyze.

  43. Short timeframe reversal but not a downtrend reversal yet in the bigger picture. SPX prediction was 1087, hit 1087.86 at the peak - had people on the right side of it anyway. A/D was too aggressive to try that speculative MOS position in hindsight, caught it more or less flat and got out okay. Interesting to watch GLD and UUP going forward. - Analyze.

  44. Should have waited a couple more minutes, GS even ramped it more at the close ; - Analyze.

  46. Shivering in my shorts. Apparently all it takes is for me to go short to get the market up, especially gold/silver. Thank goodness I still have plenty of auy, slw, swc, anv, jag, even some gdx. But today was a good lesson. Kli, glad to hear she's out of the hospital.
