VIVE CHILE.....VIVE BEN update I

Sorry...on the run today so sporadic post.....added small DTO. hoping for 85 plus oil. Smells like distribution could be getting close to over so don't be leaning too long here.....be happy with your profits.

Hope your weekend is good and long. This market is treacherous so staying on the sidelines here is fine.

Accumulate ATPG and SGY on weakness and of course watch the miners for a beatdown. All I've seen is a beatup so far.

Enjoy this article on Chile and I must say it does look nice.

  1. djohnson,

ABk at .90 yesterday was a nice one, liquidity was ideal if you play heavy.

  2. GM, joe. What is your target for abk...too late to get .90 :).

  3. nancy,

ABK is just a momo play, I would not buy and hold at this level if I were you. They might push it to $2 but I do not recommend it to you guys now, yesterday I saw the momentum behind it at 0.90 and saw it as a good one day trade with heavy volume.

  4. Nancy,

If you have your hold core on DCTH, then you can play daily fluctuations with extra playing money, today it gave a nice gap again.

  5. Ok, thanks, joe. Exar has had a nice move, too. Haven't been playing much since April/May. Have been holding my divi stocks, miners and cash. Now, cash = trash so I'll be playing a bit more. Appreciate your help so much and hope you are well.

  8. dj,

Seems like big boys might give an offer of $40 a share for SVNT buy out, biotechs are risky, when deals go thru it's beautiful if you are long and when they do not PAIN can be tremendous. ARNA is a good example of PAIN for those in it at $8. I am glad I did not play ARNA long before the collapse.

  9. "Savient’s boost ( SVNT) is also pretty easy to explain: its gout drug Krystexxa was approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and the company has said it’s interested in being bought out. Investors, of course, are hoping for a big pharma bidding war."

  10. By the way DJ, if SVNT is bought out high 20s, low 30s makes more sense than $40 a share .

  12. Very interesting on the HAWK you mentioned. Looking at the technicals only, on 8/4 someone put in an artificial sell catalyst to alter the price structure, there was some event or player that artificially extended downside starting there, so that it could accelerate against the trend from the bottom on 8/25 - that price action was all forced between those dates 8/4 - 8/25 so that it would slingshot out after someone got it on the cheap at the bottom, to reverse against the intermediate trend. It set up a contrived pattern to reverse up, similar to the SPX setup that occurs often. Max downside would be 9.13 if there was a retrace here, but they need 13.58 before earnings, so any downside would need to reverse quickly off that level if the intention is to pop it out of trend off earnings, and move it up longer term. I would be interested to see what Joe can dig up on the fundamentals/catalyst side. Similar in a way to DSCO. May check back in later or tomorrow.

  16. Joe, thanks for the research, let's skip it, just a ponzi quant model test, nothing to bother with. But I bet my previous post has people wondering why they trade in a market where anyone can lay out terms, times, and targets around trends like that where we hit the other side on failure, lol. I found a cool song tonight after browsing around, enjoy. The official video was not online-friendly, so stick with this one.
