TRANQUILITY RETURNS

Or does it. Well thats how we're playin' it. At least for today. A lot of vacations out on the Island aren't going so smoothly. At least the traders are getting some scraps from the increased volatility. Mom and Pop on the other hand are just destroyed. Their CONfidence never really recovered from the 2008 debacle and to assume that they can be enticed to return to this casino after this week is gone forever. Stick a fork in the older generations and hope the younger ones can forget in a decade. I know we have a short attention span but its going to be hard to get over this.

Is anything going to change substantively this week in Europe? NO. Can anything change in Europe? Unless you believe the massive structural changes that exist within this region can be addressed with monetary policy, then NO. Expect our tranquility to be short lived.

Can our structural problems be addressed? Of course. But they will not. Should we cut and slash Medicare and Social Security? OR...should we get out of two foreign wars with NO objective other than a nebulous enemy called "terrorism". Terrorists that we are creating by the tens of thousands now by being in and OCCUPYING another persons country and killing their civilians by the millions over the last ten years. What are we thinking? What have we become? Yes ....let's focus on trimming a few billion off Social Security and Medicare. How about TRILLIONS that are going out the back door in these wars and NOBODY speaks out but Ron Paul.

Watch the game today....they've sneaked into the miners.....should be a nice grind up this year. Hold your core. PSLV looks good for a conservative hold.

  7. kli,

you be right about those miners. looked at AUY and its about .70cents higher than i last looked. just something to keep and eye on. i know this board talked about FCEL, its earnings are in a couple of weeks, it seems to be patiently creeping upwards a few cents here and there. could have a little run into earnings, it was beaten down pretty hard last week. it has recovered 20percent, but it is still pretty low, at the very least i wouldnt be surprised if it recapatures 1.40's in the near term.

  12. BTW......i don't recommend anyone chasing moves......but that's also why the sheep (me) miss some of these breakout moves....look at the GDX chart from yesterday....they just added another monster candle. Most of us will stand idly by when this does make its monster move.....whether its now or end of the year......I'm very patient with a nice core here.....no reason to get itchy
