from ZH...
  • Squawk Box (6-9 a.m.) is supposed to prime traders before the bell. The show posted its lowest rated its time block since Q4 2006.
  • The Closing Bell (3-5 p.m.) is supposed to wrap up the day’s action. The slot posted its fifth-lowest rating in total viewers and second-lowest ratings in the key 25-54 demographic since 1997.
  • Fast Money (5-6 p.m.) is focused almost specifically on swing trading stocks. That time slot showed the lowest rating for the 25-54 demo since 1997 — and lowest in total viewers since Fast Money launched in 2006.
Okay dokay.....ZH did a piece on CNBS's ratings plunge and suggested several possible explanations. The comments were hilarious as usual and I thought it was worthy of a little comment here. First of all CNBS can only give out the party line of "everything is just fine" for so long before even the fattest sheep wise up. Watching Joe "the blow" Kiernan is nauseating in the morning slot and has to turn off a large viewing segment, but getting his lips unlocked from his nearest boss has always been an ordeal from anyone wanting to clean up his slot.

Becky Quickie is a waste of a perfectly good chair, but she still can dangle candy in front of Warren Buffet (like anyone wants to hear that douchebag)..

You can go down the list of shills like Liesman, Cramer, Krudlow, etc.....but its become a farce to even critique the list. No one is watching this charade any longer with the expectations of gaining incite into the real economy or worse ...expecting a sudden change in character of this Fedspeak propaganda tool.

I like to listen to the misinformation to see which way they are trying to lead the sheep to slaughter. Just now I listened to a piece on The Call (CNBS's Asia counterpart) about Gold crashing to 700... Some little twerp without any crede and snot hanging from his lip spouting the company line. Oh well.......guess I better sell my gold and gold stocks again. Wish I had made that trade 4 months ago when CNBS was touting gold. Bottom line is what would have happened if CNBS just tried telling the truth. What if they allowed more Rick Santelli types on instead of the sycophants like Buffet, Kiernan, and Krudlow. We just might be having a totally different discussion on them. It was NEVER to be.

Nothing to report from the charts other than these stocks need to rip sooner rather than later or they are going down to retest their recent lows. gl all

  2. KLI: in other word... CNBC is just a puppet for the masters. This is something I've long believed.

  3. Kli,
You mention constantly that CONfidence is key for the PONZI, yet as you brought up in your post regarding CNBC the official mouth piece for the TPTB, something’s not working…… If you look further into the overall ratings for all of Cable News and look at “Who” is perpetually in the bottom tells you something, the plebes ain’t buying what they are selling.

    http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/category/cable-news/

Honestly how can they/we, they/we are living in an opposite world of what they/we are being told.

The U-3 UE is always reported as going down, yet no one can find meaningful work and the “Workforce” is constantly being reduced. New UE claims are reported at “X” only to be revised upwards to “Y” the following week. Inflation is always reported as being in check, yet it costs you $25 for a 2lb flank steak, $ 5 for a gallon of milk, $ 4 for a pound of butter, you folks know the rest. Oil is under $80 per barrel, yet diesel is still over $ 4.00 a gallon (used that because it’s equal to home heating oil, big up here in the North East). We are told to respect and follow the “Laws of the Land” and “Constitution” yet everywhere you look in Government, either at the Local, State or Federal levels the “Laws of the Land” and “Constitution” are in many cases disregarded and do not apply. Just look at the show that’s coming today with SCOTUS………

What a complete and total farce of the Legislative process!!!

Anyway, “We the Plebes” know something’s not right in Denmark but too many aren’t sure who to blame, hehehehe….. A “MIRROR” would be a start and far too many are tuning out and sticking their heads in the sand hoping for better times ahead” Ostrich Economics” I believe you called it!!

    What a Wonderful World………

Anyway, sooner rather than later for the miners and metals I’m getting tired of the color RED!!

Btw: Comments on ZH is where I usually find my comic relief, those folks are really farking hilarious at times!!!!!

    3. Nonsense Kli love reading your stuff. I must admit I do that on ZH as well though :) The comments are where the good stuff is! Same with Turd's page. He's still pumping away, God I wish he was right but so far not the case. He's become too blind.

    4. Turd cannot get past his own ideology and hubris....unfortunately it has killed his site...i still scan it but its lost its kick and he just cant make the transformation to understanding who really owns him because he cannot admit that he has been wrong for his entire life. I can......I was wrong....

    5. We all were, at least we were willing to admit it and look at things differently. I used to be such a right winger loved bush, was fine with the wars etc. etc. I was sooooo stupid. Makes me sick to think back to things I said. But that's life, live and learn and try to improve.

  4. JPM's trading loss might now reach 9 billion. Did anyone really believe that it was going to be just 2 billion?

I agree with Tom,...it begins by looking in the MIRROR. As I began my discovery process, I couldn't understand why the X & Y generations were so mad at the Baby Boomers. "What did I do?" I would say to myself. It isn't until you start looking and peeling away the layers of the onion that you will see just how you contributed. Most Americans are not going to do that.

  5. Had to get up early to put a stop on my GS puts. Yawn. It's 6:14 AM here in Seattle.

Doc: Re JPM: There will be a lot of happy lawyers in NYC this morning. OK joking aside, when are we going to get serious about financial reform? It's quite obvious that Dodd-Frank is a pile of horsechit as many of us have thought since the day Obama put his signature on it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. "OK joking aside, when are we going to get serious about financial reform?"

LOL...who's we? Most folks I know - know there's something wrong, but the fear and obfuscation being put out there is still working. People with some money think the Dems are out to get it, they think the repubs are out to save them (joke's on them). No one seems able to put two and two together and see the person behind the curtain. When I point out this has been 30 years in the making and all of us are being duped, very few listen.

Dodd-Frank, members of the banking/finance committees of both houses were large and in charge during the final stages of the financial shenanigans so of course there's no bite in the legislation. Dodd got several mortgages from Countrywide (Friends of Angelo) but "didn't realize" he was being given special treatment.

So to answer the question, i think only when things get really bad will things change.

  10. obamas health care UPHELD by court.....its a shitty bill....it will only make the system more expensive and complicated and the bottom line less access for the middle class and working people.....the system needs a radical overhaul....not this give away to the insurance companies......its a scam....i hope it benefits more people than it hurts but i have my doubts

    2. Actually healthcare is already virtually federally controlled .....what this does is funnel more taxpayer money to pay to private insurers for shitty health insurance......its the worst of both worlds.....much like the bill for medicare prescription drugs....which was a taxpayer gift to big pharma

  14. "the system needs a radical overhaul....not this give away to the insurance companies......its a scam...."

First thing that really needs to go (IMHO) are lobbyists and super pacs. Until the money stops pouring in to "our elected officials" from the large corporations, we will continue to see this. It only means more outlandish profits, less domestic jobs, more unethical actions, more criminal acts that go unpunished (jail time), etc. I know it sounds like a liberal/socialist rant but the pendulum has swung over so far in favor of the folks/corps with real money, its kind of crazy. Again, JMHO.

  15. Yep, they can tax and tax and tax, thereby wiping out the last of the middle class standing. Great move! At the same time, there will be laws controlling what we eat, in fact they've already begun. I'm reading about the Nazi invasion of Austria, they came in without any resistance! It's the normalcy bias...

    ReplyDelete
  16. This is such a dangerous decision. Basically I'm reading it as they see it as constitutional because the penalty for not having it is a tax? So they can basically force us to purchase anything under this same ruling, not just health insurance. This is awful... AWFUL!

  17. I'm stupid for going to work each day. I could sit at home, play my PS3 all day and have the taxpayers pay for everything.

No job and I get welfare.
No house and I get housing vouchers.
No food and I get food stamps.
No transportation and I get bus passes.
No power and I get electricity vouchers.
No health care and I get Obamacare.
