VOLATILITY AHEAD

If an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, what happens? You get a "bang"? The war between the entities in the PM trade are not "about to collide" but they ARE colliding. You probably feel like we are in the same morass during the year long beatdown of the PM trade. Who can really blame the average trader for feeling exhausted and disgusted with the price manipulation. In the totality of this epic move in gold we have just been through a rather "normal" corrective move. We are entering some very dramatic moves in this market and they are going to shake you to your very core. Most of us will choke and puke this trade long before this next move completes. It may seem puzzling to you why you won't be in this trade, but the combination of the news flows and market volatility will be a double edged sword designed to crush all participants but the most prepared......
John Embry on KWN says   “The people on the long side have figured out the game and they know the wind is at their back.  So when one of these raids is staged, there is just a wall of buying lined up at a certain place, and that’s why these declines stop and then they reverse quite quickly.”
There is a war between the price controllers and the physical buyers. The owners of the bullion are reaching the point that the  "accumulators" of the metal are becoming more than a thorn in their side and allowing accumulation of the bullion is going to have to be curtailed. The market will respond very soon with a marked rise in price AND volatility. As discussed recently the real risk in this trade will be losing your position......just as some of you already have. Standing and watching on the sidelines will be devastating.
Expecting the "ideal" entry for maximum return with minimum risk will NOT be allowed. As repeatedly stated bullion accumulation is the "safest" but it will have risk going forward as the war between the masters reaches its climax on Olympus with nature's forces. I am going to believe that we survive...the other choices aren't palatable.......gl

  3. Hello everyone,
I continue to be puzzled by the strength of NKTR and am trying to "discover" why.

It's a regular work day for me.

  4. They had a conference call in mid-Sept. and announced that there are 4 drugs that will have "major inflection points" in the next 3-9 months.
I sold covered October calls, so I thought things would stay quiet this month, especially with the stock running up significantly already. What bothers me is that the stock seems be accumulating in this 10.75 to 10.85 range or so. Do the big boyz know something??

  5. Happy Columbus Day everyone! Yes, we got no recovery. The news here is Freightliner furloughing 2,600 workers because demand for the trucks they produce fell by 50% in the last 2 mos.--50%!!! What's this about improving unemployment numbers?

  6. But but....... I thought the UE went down to 7.8%! Guess the folks at Freightliner don't count!

  9. First frost of the upcoming Winter season occurred last night! Always exciting.

Found this about NKTR. There MAY be an announcement about a Phase I drug (BAX-855) today. If favorable, the drug will move on to Phase II/III testing. So, the recent strength in NKTR may be due to anticipated favorable results. Guess we will find out.

  10. We've set record lows this week...had the coolest August ever. So much for global warming. Where do you live doc? FWIW, M. Armstrong & another forecaster I sometimes read calling for high to be 8/13. Have to keep reminding myself the market is not the economy.

  11. Sister, this is no market

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/49333454/

A single mysterious computer program that placed orders — and then subsequently canceled them — made up 4 percent of all quote traffic in the U.S. stock market last week, according to the top tracker of high-frequency trading activity. The motive of the algorithm is still unclear.

The program placed orders in 25-millisecond bursts involving about 500 stocks, according to Nanex, a market data firm. The algorithm never executed a single trade, and it abruptly ended at about 10:30 a.m. ET Friday.

  30. Thx, Kli. That's what I thought you meant, just after all these years (4 and counting!) still need clarification sometimes. Cannot believe it has been that long. Those 3x bears/bulls are for the braver heart than I but I know people who still trade them...one got tripped up and stopped out going by the vix today. Congrats to everyone who owns auq! Hopefully, we'll have more such luck going forward/sold one of the Mexican mines.
