TIME IS THE ULTIMATE COMMODITY

We are nearing a day of reckoning and a some of us are feeling the pressure of time on our preparations for that ultimate meeting with the Kress Cycle. I received an E mail from one of you expressing concern that they may not be prepared for the next stage of the "economic crisis" or the "fiscal cliff" as the media is now calling it. I must admit that the CONSTANT pounding of the "fiscal cliff" makes me smile as I recount the endless reassurances in the past that have been the hallmark of our politicians and bankers.  Every time a voice of fiscal reason sounded an alarm in 2007 or 2008 they were shouted down by the Fedspeak soldiers and castigated as doomers. As we entered the "recovery phase" during the last three years every voice of economic reason questioning the lack of fiscal restraint was told they were hindering the "recovery". If you questioned the constant and every increasing manipulation of economic statistics and the market itself you were attacked. Many of you can recall Red, Joe, myself and others discussing the Kress cycle and the phases that we would enter. Most of you are wondering where we are now in the Kress cycle and its impact on your real lives as we enter the hard down phase of the cycle. If you recall over the last several years I have said there would be a phase of stagflation withing the deflationary collapse of the economy. My simple view was that the stagflationary effect of increasingly higher prices of essentials would be the limiting factor on the Fed printing that was going to be behind the the "recovery" phase going into the final hard down years of 2013-2015.
Will he protect the constitution?
The election cycle needed to be completed with the current administration left as intact as possible for the bankers to complete the final hard down phase, thus guaranteeing as much control as possible. This is why Obama's reelection was predictable. SHOULD YOU PULL ALL YOUR PAPER INVESTMENTS AND GO TO PHYSICAL?  I cannot tell you that answer because it really depends on a number of factors that are not available to me AND quite frankly I do NOT KNOW the course the "true power" is going to pick. I can guess at probabilities and take precautions. For instance...you need some paper available "under your mattress"........you need physical gold and silver IN YOUR POSSESSION......you need to pay down as much debt as possible and shore up all unnecessary expenditures that are NOT true necessities. I am truly sorry for our New York readers but they may be LUCKIEST ONES ON THIS BLOG. They have the advantage now to fully comprehend just how fragile this entire JIT delivery system is with its urbancentric emphasis. They know that Red wasn't just trying to frighten you with his warnings that the entire ponzi is hanging by a thread and you now know what I am trying to tell you when I talk about the control NATURE exerts on the entire game. DO NOT PANIC....just keep making the simple preparations above......accumulating cash...storeable food.....water purification.....bug out avenues and contingencies. I believe that we will get through this and I believe the U.S. is still survivable for us. Your job is to keep your strength for yourself, your family, and your friends. Some of you are probably being viewed a little differently by the very people that questioned and ridiculed your crazy proclamations that the "game was rigged".....so use your new found capital to help maintain their morale and their own awareness. Without that awareness then the next steps in change from within ourselves cannot occur. Don't forget most of us helped get ourselves into this mess.

Will we be able to reverse the damage done to our rights by the same people that told you we needed to fight a war on terror by invading a country that had nothing to do with terror and occupying another country that had been effectively destroyed in one month??? Sorry to tell you the simple fact is NOT without a lot of pain and sacrifice. That's what true freedom means. A lot of people believe that simple phrases make you a patriot, unfortunately that is what has helped get us into this situation. We are an empire NOT a country trying to defend itself from "terror". Oh...there is terror alright.....most of created right here. Never forget the Rahm line...NEVER let a good crisis go to waste.  Our purpose is to try and make us all aware of the game AND the options that you have to improve your chances of survival and maybe even make a little coin. Keep your eyes and ears open and try to think for yourself. Quit swallowing the red pill. You have been told what the game is now use that knowledge.

  1. Welcome home! Japanese gdp shrank by 3.5% and the economy is back in recession but have looked high and low and cannot find what the actual revised gdp number is...guessing someone doesn't want us to know, lol. Expecting more "easing" there so the PMs should (SHOULD) have a good Monday. But one never knows...

  3. Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he will rush through measures to stem evictions in Spain after a woman committed suicide as officials tried to seize her home.
A bipartisan committee will meet today to draw up plans to reduce the number of people being evicted from their homes as Rajoy tries to control a growing sense of outrage at mortgage foreclosures. The group is set to announce a temporary halt to evictions and incentivize lenders to renegotiate loans and find ways to allow people to remain in their homes, Rajoy said.
The government “will defend the most vulnerable families affected by the evictions and act with seriousness, sensitivity and great humanity,” the premier told supporters at a Nov. 9 election rally in Lerida, Catalonia. The Spanish people are experiencing “terrible things and inhumane situations.”
Amaia Egana became the second person in the past month to commit suicide in Spain over an eviction when she threw herself from her apartment in Baracaldo as officials arrived to change the locks on Nov. 9. Some 400,000 homes have been foreclosed on in Spain since the start of the five-year slump that is tearing at the fabric of the country. The number is set to increase without government action as unemployment reached a record 26 percent in September.

I am not a big fan chuck of the concept in the sense that most prescriptions today are "generic substitution permissable" this makes these types of reformulations difficult to achieve lift off.....since the pharmacists/and third party payers insist on using generic instead EVEN THOUGH there are no long acting equivalents....THEY still substitute the generic mg total.........NOW having said that.....it still may have enough sales to to create a double or triple quite easily

  14. Looking at LNG again...they currently have the only license for export terminal and the stock is falling...possibly CQP as well although I guess technically LNG owns the license. This would be a very long term hold and add on pullbacks for me. Also looking at TGP again, haven't traded those in a long time.

  15. What I Learned from Sandy……….

Never underestimate your adversary and the sheer ignorance of people! Until you’re in the thick of things, you never really know if you have thought through all of the potential outcomes to prepare for. Prior to the Sandy I believed that my preparations had been well thought out, I had plenty of stored food, water, back up lighting, duel means of cooking, natural gas stove/oven and propane grill and stove top, 3500 watt generator and 15 gallons of gas to run it. All cars topped off so long as there was no damage to the house I thought I would be able to ride things out pretty easily.

Well by in large I did and better than most considering at one point there were twenty people in my house! However as well as I did, I in fact caused some self-inflicted anxiety due to a few things not one hand or not considered. My first fubar was procrastinating on purchasing a water purification pump (thanks for the Berkey suggestion I was seriously considering Katadyn Expedition for volume but was waffling over the price), a serious Duhhh on my part and could have had serious consequences had it been needed. Another was a lack of thinking beyond just having certain items on hand, I failed to take into consideration the length of time systems would be out of balance, primarily fuel and that in conjunction with not having a means of purifying water were my two mistakes.

While the small generator I have served well, I also never calculated its hourly run time per gallon, so right there had I done so, it would have told me I needed 56 gallons for a 12 hour straight run for fourteen days. I now know it burns about a third of a gallon per hour, was easy to figure out since it only has a gas tank that holds a third of a gallon and every hour I was out there refilling it! I never considered fuel holding capacity either when I purchased it. So right out of the gate I was very short of fuel and was going to get a lot of exercise….. My other thought, if necessary was one of my vehicles has a thirty gallon gas tank so I figured in a pinch I could siphon gas from it except I was unaware of the anti-siphon mechanisms in today’s gas tanks!! Another Duhhhh on my part……..

To Honest’s point the other day about friends, it was my saving grace as I was able to hussle up the much needed fuel to keep the gen running and more importantly rid the nagging anxiety of running out. While on the subject I have added a wide mouth funnel with a flexible goose neck to make liquid transfer easier and less messy! I also became aware of the following 14 gallon container on wheels for fuel and a couple few of these FULL would have made things a little easier and less stressful…

    http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/safety/safety-cans/fuel-gas/polyethylene-plastic-gas-caddy-fuel-tank-14-gallon-capacity?utm_source=google_pr&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Tanks-Fuel-Gas-google_pr&infoParam.campaignId=T9F&gclid=CPSZnsa1yLMCFcRU4Aodk3gAUQ

However going forward I’m going to a small diesel generator bout 4000 watts, no larger since I was able to easily run Ref/Freezer, Boiler, a few fluorescent lamps and a couple of power strip for charging up batteries and other chit with the one I had but I’ll make sure the new diesel gen has a bigger tank! My reasoning for diesel is I heat my home with #2 home heating oil which is the same as diesel but dyed red for identification purposes, Diesel you pay road tax home heating oil you don’t. Got to work with what you have and I have a 250 gallon tank so with installation of a simple valve for filling a 5 gal, I will have enough but here to there is a limit. Can’t store large quantities of Propane so that is not an option and I am reluctant to rely solely on NatGas which on the surface would be a no brainer but it can be shut off! Call me paranoid but I’m going with the bird in hand mentality from here on out……

  16. I am also not going to rely on one source of energy for electrical generation which is why I’m seriously looking into Solar Generators as a secondary and longer term solution to complement diesel but my knowledge is very limited on Solar at the moment and a lot of what is offered for sale I can’t be sure of. I found this Company Solar-Stik:

    http://www.solarstik.com/products-solutions

From all appearances it seem to be the real deal and has some very interesting set up’s, requested information so I’ll see where it goes. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

After the initial outage of 5 days which was light considering there are still those that are still out there dark there also was a 12 hour outage after the Nor-Easter and a 5 hour outage the other day. Given the fact that the grid infrastructure is ancient plus surrounded by weakened trees and you know the repairs were made in haste so any decent wind/rain or wind/snow storm will put things back to square one…….. You can’t assume the lights are always going to work when you hit the switch and I ain’t.

Having a means to generate electric made the investment in rechargeable batteries worth it. I have a few craftsman fluorescent 19.2 volt portable work lights which was perfect for a large room and ran for approx. 5 hours continually and had a number of small led tent lanterns that run on 4 rechargeable aa’s and was more than enough for milling about the house. I also purchased a few 150 watt power inverters for the cars to allow for additional power if needed. I have since jettisoned all non- led flash lights as the incandescent types chewed batteries to quick. Also have a Large Rechargeable Spot Light, good to see what’s coming a football field away…..

I also found a use for the Mrs.’s. Solar garden lamps she stuck all over the place. Cleaned up the lenses, flipped them over and it served about as well as a candle and without the fire hazard all twenty four of them! They were very useful for illuminating the outside steps, stairwell and hallways and just had to throw them outside for a charge the next day.
Last thing I didn’t think about was information!!! I just assumed cell service and 4G service would continue when I knew cable service was certain to go out!! Another Duhhhh on my part…….. Could only rely on Local Radio and most stations are NYC Centric so didn’t help much for what was going on around me. I also did not have a digital antenna for TV, which is on the way now so was pretty much in the dark. For some reason Verizon FIOS stayed on line if you had a means to keep the modem powered up and were able to access Internet and TV, once I verify if this would be the case in all situations will be switching from cable to FIOS within the very near future.

I will also be splitting my stuff to two locations, had the house been damaged to the point of total loss as many were and not due to flooding, so would my stuff. My thinking is half a loaf is better than none….

    2. Thanks Tom. I will follow your advice on much of the above. A couple of things to add...

I know a few people whose generators went down post storm and they then had to wait for parts so I suggest having some spare generator parts on hand, i.e. belts, filters, etc.

Also, I just purchased two Kerosene heaters in the event that all power sources run dry or the generator goes down for one reason of another. I will be adding a generator (NG) in the next few months but given a shortage of gasoline, shutdown of NG pipes, etc etc, having my own source of fuel (Kerosene which can be stored for a long time) and a few heaters, I'd be able to keep warm under any circumstance.

Lastly, if you have a fire place, it's also worth carrying a very large supply of wood as the ultimate back up for a heat source.

  17. Tom,
Thanks for all the info. I need to study it further.
I'm going to get the Berkley water filters/system.
Back up energy continues to be a problem. I might buy a Kerosene heater as part of my system. If Kerosene is stored in the original metal container, it can be stored for 10-15 years.

    1. I just read down to this so I see you are already onto the Kerosene heaters. I got 4 five gallon drums of kerosene, a shaker siphon, and a filtering funnel. Now I need to get a shed for the yard to store the flammable stuff.

  18. Tom and Doc--forgotten exactly where you are but in Westchester the linemen from La., Tn., Miss. and Al. told my daughter & friend that they could not believe the condition of the lines/infrastructure...she is furious with the rates they pay (her bill is about $300/mo. when no A/C is running) and that ConEd will not update. To be honest, I was shocked when I first went up there and saw that the lines are not buried. Mine have been buried everywhere I've lived. It also makes me sick that we have paid all these trillions to bail out the banksters when the country clearly needs infrastructure help...Just as an aside, now the Gen. Allen thing added to Petaeus is getting ridiculous...there is something sinister going on here...prepare for war?

  24. Tom , cut down on the 12 hr run by at least 1/2. Keep people out of the fridge. Especially if the weather is warm. You can cool your fridge in a coupl of hours.. By generator. Keep some contianers of frozen water in the freezer... will stabilize the fridge or be good in an ice chest. Propane and a camping stove can go a long way to heat meals, coffee. It is handy to be a tree hugger 'cause you learn how to be a bit more confident when shtf. But, there will be those that want what you got if it gets that bad then why?..live? I really would like to find a way out of Cali it is going to get bad here...
