DEFCON 1

Sorry for my laxity in posting this past week, but the game is in such a complacency position I just didn't think it needed my CONfirmation. I do think a little reminder shock headline could get you to wake up enough to meander down to your local coin dealer for a shopping session. Locally the "great economy" is inducing some significant selling of physical metals by retail holders which to me indicates another "signal" the bottom in prices is near.

Sadly, most of this selling is out of a "need" for cash to survive. A lot of suffering is becoming more evident in the real economy here as a "strapped" CONsumer strives to meet their debt commitment in a so-called "hot economy". I guess that for much of the economy, the uberfication of the "working man" just isn't providing enough "pop" to generate enough inflation for the Fed.

  • U.S. stocks are in a bear market because they haven’t returned to last year’s highs.
  • The U.S. debt and deficit are “out of control” because they’re growing during a strong economy, leaving little room to maneuver.
  • Fed’s Powell, during his last press conference, “looked scared.” The U.S economy is “rudderless,” Gundlach said.

So here we are lol. We have created maximum stupidity. The Fed is trying to drive up prices in energy and food while the bulk of workers are locked into dead end jobs with no hope of wage increases. Seriously! Its the definition of insanity. Oh, I know, lets combat high prices in essentials with raising artificially the minimum wage. LOL again you slaughter the entry level job market.

There really isn't a reason to beat this dead horse so I'll close out with this summary. We are entering the final phase. They will eventually have to print overtly. They will have to weaken the dollar. They are running out of time now. They will create massive debt as the momentum collapses in their "inflation" creation. This year will see RATE CUTS and Dollar decline. DEFCON 1 is here.

    1. Not sure if you are referring to the tariff posturing "market" swings but like Lou says you can't believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. A long time ago I used to watch Peter Jennings and I thought I was informed but when I look at the news cycle today you can pick it apart like child's play, its so obvious on what the motives are, Russel had a very good point in the end of that video.

I don't know, I make ok money but I feel like I am just scraping by, I am not sure how people are getting by in this eCONomy with the price of homes, gas, taxes, insurance, medical, it is very bad.

    3. We just have to sit tight because Trump is playing 7D chess, not 4D or 3D chess and that the hammer is gonna drop any day now lol He has been trying I will give him that at least as he lines his pockets but it just shows how big unwieldy and corrupt the system is. Neofeudalism sounds like what we have. Well, off to work at my yob with people from various 3rd world countries, a yob I am lucky to have, time to go pay for it all lol

  8. Why all the negativism? Things are good IMO.

At the end of the month I have paid the bills and generally have $1k (or more) left from the month's income.

I just hope the heart "flutters" don't get worse. So far - almost 7 years and I feel good, walk 4 miles a day hope the next 7 years are as good as the last 7 years.

    2. Seven years ago cardio Dr. told me "I operate or you will have a cardio event and die within the year". I had one question for him "where's your knife?"

After I started recovery he told me to exercise (not weights, but moderate exercise like walking). Took me about 6 months to get up to 4 miles as I recovered, but been walking 7 days a week... rarely miss days... for almost 6 years.

    4. I get it, you have to stop and smell the roses and life is short and your health is all ya got.

I think your generation had it far better, you could buy a house, a car, college, health care etc, WITH ONE INCOME. Globalism wasn't in full tilt mode, all the good jobs weren't only centered around major metropolitan areas with bubbled housing markets, you could live in a small town and work at an ok company as a professional. Your prime working years weren't at the peak of the debt bubble, the mass labor offshoring, the mass 3rd world worker influx which drove down wages and milked the infrastructure, you're able to get social security of which I probably won't see any. You were able to build your savings with something called interest.

Burger flipper wages have tripled and skilled wages have dropped but the price of everything is up and how many young adults now a days live with their parents? But yeah, I'm negative lol.

    8. Dark - do you get it? If you get it - how much does a "divorce" cost? There went the affordable house. Or how much does 13 years of "private school" cost?. Or child support?

Lots of moving from project to project to pay those costs. Unless you did these things I doubt you get it. Not crying about it - just glad I managed it with the right plan. No PLAN is a PLAN to fail.

    9. I just wanted to second The Dark Knight’s comments Kli. In regards to your comment below about the video, Dark Knight (did you previously post under the League of Shadows?) if it wasn’t for the internet and blogs like Kil’s I think it would have been possible to go through one’s entire life and not have any sense of how our financial system works.

    10. Inlet, while they both fall under the title of adversity, I would like to make the distinction that one is self imposed and the other is not. Of course life has setbacks but what we have here today in entirely unnecessary of which I am sure you would agree.

Tom, I have posted under League of shadows and Old Hickory because I enjoyed the book American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House.

But if you watch the trilogy of the Dark Knight movies, they are really fantastically done and touch on a lot of parallels of what is happening today, human nature, corruption, when institutions become shackles to name a few and they are entertaining to boot.

    1. I enjoy his work and videos, but let's be honest, he is rehashing what thinking people knew 11 years ago 20 years ago, 107 years ago, but back to 11 years ago, that these monopolies should have been broken up into receivership back in 2008, and the assets divided so that smaller banks could enter and competition could happen but everything was sacrificed so that we have what we have today, debt peonage, indentured servitude, mass drug epidemic, decline in culture, but out of sight out of mind as they say.

  13. Just a view. I was married in 71 we bought our 1st house for $15,900 it wasn't bad 3 beds nice yard. I was a meat cutter I worked for the best stores in Cinti. and knew how to make money in the business. Opened 1st store in 74 worked our ass off and made more than I ever thought was poss. Bought a 70 Ac. farm Beautiful place in Ky. I hated going to work. Sold it for a big profit had about 250 k thought I would retire, got bored opened another store only worked 4 days a week and did great. By the way the farm cost 59k nice house we added on and loved it there. One morning was at work and my neighbor called my beautiful young wife 29 years old wife was paralyzed from the neck down, we were in shock 3 kids 8-6-2 over the years opened and sold 3 more stores. Stating around the 90s when home computers and discounters came in stated day trading did very well with help from one of the 1st day traders on line , he was very good, quit trading in 1999 when I felt like everything stated to change. My wife is still very beautiful at 68 and has the best attitude you could ever find. And now you know the rest of the story. Kindle He Knows

  14. Life presents us challenges for sure. Got involved with computers in 1967 in college. Had some well paying projects and some not that well paying.

Lots of long hours most projects..... projects for IBM, CSC, EDS, FEDEX, banks, Dominion Power, Federal Reserve Bank to name some. Became a bum at 55 and moved to the beach (by then no one else to support).

Lots of pot holes in the road of life, but with a math degree and hard work some success and good times too.

  16. Looks like DEFCON 1 is Friday.......lol.....nothin' like a ponzi reaching its CONclusion.... THAT does not mean Friday is THE end but this year does look like the exposure of this remarkable juggling act is evident and will require some major overt monetary moves by the CBs. Covering up their duplicity is my concern. They are moving on multiple war fronts as I type. This will bode poorly at some "opportune" juncture. THEY will not be cast as the cause of the financial collapse.

Was it a simpler time back in the 70's, even more the 80's?
This song was back in 1983.

      1983.

The Big Log is trucker lingo for all the hours they log on the road and their connection to it.
How many hours have we logged following this "market" slash reality show.

In the vein of this thread, back to when this song came out, I can't help to think it was a more simpler time, but ya can't go back.

      Ah, the 80's

  24. Well that's true to a point, yes by and large the Millennials were sold a Bill of Goods, Go to College they said, Take out Loans they said, Stay away from Trades they said, Move Manufacturing over Seas is good they said, Let Illegals come in and hold down wages they said, hahahaha yet it's the Millennials who are the ones who vote for Bernie & the AOC's selling them free a free lunch and as well all know there is no free lunch.... Sum body's gotz to pay!

    Never Ends....

btw: Two of my kids are Millennials neither have loans, One owns a couple of Restaurants and is on a roll, the other is doing well too in the Medical field and my last one is still finding his way and he will but knows the scam all too well...

  26. CA, NY not much different these days... For Half a Million where I live you get a Fixer Up'er. Just signed a with a R/E Broker, putting the place up for Sale at Summers End, was kind'a surprised at the number I was told I'll get but I'll take it and run. Was hoping to get it up sooner but as Inlet says Life's got Potholes, heheeee Past Six Months, there's been some pot holes. Anyway hopefully I'll be in Greener Pastures by October.

When you're in your 30's/40's you don't think about time all that much but when you get to my age, you do, since folks you grew up with start falling off & meeting their maker and you start to realize all that effort back then was Bullchit and the real value in Life is your Health Family & True Friends....

That's all I'm saying & the 70's sucked! I lived in 'um! Hahahha
